Age of Steam
Time & Location
About the Event
Our last event at SMART Columbus was all about future mobility, so this round we’re taking a journey to a blast from the past with the Age of Steam Roundhouse– steam-powered train engines! (and a few others). We will be taking a tour of the accurately reconstructed 18-stall brick roundhouse surrounding a 115-ft turntable, housing the largest private collection of steam locomotives in the world, and a working back shop dedicated to active restoration, as well as the tools used in the Age of Steam transportation. We will have one expert tour guide and an assistant.
Please join us immediately after the tour for lunch at Dutch Valley.
Schedule: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Priveat Group Tour), 1:00 PM (Lunch)
Pricing: $15 for Adults, $5 for Seniors, Youths & Veterans, Children Under 3 are Free
Due to the nature of the site, all participants (or guardians of participants) will need to fill out a waiver form ahead of time or to arrive early to fill out on-site. If you cannot print out ahead of time, please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to have enough time to fill out at the event.
This is a walking tour, with a length of approximately 1/3-mile, so comfortable, closed-toe footwear is recommended. A limited quantity of strollers and wheelchairs are available – please let us know in your registration comments if you will need to utilize one of these. The duration of the tour is estimated to last about 1-1/2 hours, possibly 2hrs if there are a lot of interaction and questions!
